For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.

  - Romans 8:24, 25 (nasb)

Can a person live without hope? Perhaps, but to do so is a miserable existence, and for lack of hope many people take their own lives. In the Bible, God offers ringing hope - hope that goes beyond one's circumstances, and hope that is sure. There isn't much in life than can really be relied on - you can build your life around ever so many things and they can be swept out from under you in an instant. And where will you turn then?

“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also."

  - John 14:1-3 (nasb)

If you knew that the Lord had prepared a place for you, would you have to be concerned that you might not make it there? You would not! Listen to the words of Paul the apostle:

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

  - Philippians 1:6 (nasb)

Notice something else in that verse: "He who began a good work in you". When you submit yourself to the God of the universe in believing faith, He begins a work in you. The blessings of salvation aren't all reserved for eternity.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous runs into it and is safe.

  - Proverbs 18:10 (nasb)

Read the Bible, and look for instances of God showing care for those who trust Him. You will find them all throughout the pages of the Bible. Consider these words of the Lord Jesus himself:

Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.

  - Luke 12:6,7 (nasb)

While there are joys and blessings which we will not experience until the rightful King reigns unopposed, yet when you give the King his place in your own life He promises this:

“I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you”

  - Hebrews 13:5b (nasb)
